Steinbach Community OutreachOrganization Information

“OUR MISSION Our mission is to assist people experiencing poverty and lack of housing by filling in the gaps left by other organizations. We seek to accomplish this by meeting their essential needs, such as food, shelter, clothing and relationship while treating people with dignity and respect for who they are; and to support their journey towards holistic wellness. THOSE WE SERVE We assist approximately 30 people per month who are struggling with homelessness, and support over 500 households per year through our programming at our outreach center. Those we serve are families, single parents, and individuals of all ages, backgrounds, races and identities. HOW WE HELP Our guests rely on us to assist them with basic start up items as they transition from the street into a permanent home. Once their basic shelter needs are met, we continue to offer our services on an ongoing basis, to assist in overcoming struggles and help them grow into the next step of independence and wholeness. Practically, this looks like providing food, clothing, bedding, and toiletries. It’s coffee and muffins and chatting around a table. It’s welcoming, listening and connecting people with other services like the local food bank, soup kitchen, EIA, professional counsellors, and other agencies. It’s helping people find affordable housing, filing income tax returns and driving them to appointments. It is love, mercy and grace in action. “

About Us
Manitoba Camping Association/Sunshine Fund is a registered charity that provides financial support to children and youth whose families experience financial barriers that prevent them from participating in healthy recreation activities.
Each year, MCA, through the Sunshine Fund, sends around 600 children to various camp programs throughout Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.
Our goal is to raise enough money to provide more children the opportunity to experience camp and all that it has to offer, both now and in the future.
